The ganza is Brazilian in origin and used mainly in samba music.
Traditional Brazilian ganzas are round shakers constructed of metal or wood and are sometimes a woven basket. They are filled with various materials including beads, metal balls, pebbles, etc.
Vaughncraft ganzas make a few slight departures from the traditional design. Our ganzas are square resulting in a crisper response. Rosewood is the species of choice, making our instruments very musical in tone and extremely beautiful. We can also use other species depending on the timbre desired; Mahogany and walnut being just two of the many choices. Vaughncraft ganzas have the look of finely polished furniture with an unparalleled sound.
Vaughncraft ganzas come in a variety of dynamics, from pianissimo to fortissimo, and as with all Vaughncraft lines, we specialize in custom orders. We take great pride in creating that special sound for the discriminating player. |
